Grand Theft Auto VI: Don’t Overreact to the Leak!

An image of the next game from Rockstar and Take-Two has leaked, but there’s something else to consider…

Grand Theft Auto VI may be the most anticipated game in gaming history. It’s scheduled for release sometime in the fall for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, and although nothing from the game is being shown, the publisher is sticking to this release date, which is so closely watched by the gaming industry that everyone is trying to release their own products as far away from GTA VI as possible.

An image of Grand Theft Auto VI has been leaked. The video’s metadata says it’s dated 2021, so the image coming out of the game is from a build that’s at least four years old, and a lot can change during development in that time, so it’s nowhere near what the retail version of Grand Theft Auto VI might contain. So the image and some videos have appeared on Reddit, but they’re all four years old, and someone else tried to post them earlier and they were removed.

The image shows Lucia standing next to a wall, and at the other end of the image you can see some containers. The two videos don’t really show much from the game’s perspective and look more like they were taken in the offices of Rockstar Games. In the picture, we can see a PlayStation 5 developer kit, which could add to the credibility of the leak. So the new image doesn’t show much new information, but fans are still speculating where it is in the game. Many think it could be a port because of the many containers, some have guessed a military base. Both sound logical.

Anyway, Grand Theft Auto VI is still in the works and it’s questionable when Rockstar and Take-Two will show a new video of it. It would be about time, but they’re more focused on developing the game.
