Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Developers Are Sending Review Codes a Month Early

Plaion has already started distributing review codes for the highly anticipated medieval RPG, showcasing their confidence after six years of development. “I won’t lie… I’m nervous,” admitted Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, PR head at Warhorse Studios. Yet, the creators of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 seem more self-assured than ever, sending out codes weeks ahead of the game’s release.

The Middle Ages come alive like never before in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This eagerly awaited sequel to Warhorse Studios’ acclaimed open-world RPG promises to surprise players again with its historical accuracy and story-driven gameplay. With only a month left before its release, confidence in the Czech development team is running high as they have sent out review codes well ahead of time, catching both the media and the community by surprise.

Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, PR lead at Warhorse Studios, recently revealed that Plaion has begun distributing review codes for the medieval RPG, signaling their faith in the product after over six years of work. He shared the news on X/Twitter, saying, “We’re sending out the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 review codes (yes… 4 weeks before launch!)”.

“From this point on, it’s all in the hands of the ‘Gods of Reviews’ (please be kind). I won’t lie… I’m both nervous and incredibly excited. Six years of hard work are finally ready to see the light of day,” he added. Stolz-Zwilling also encouraged media outlets and content creators to reach out to Plaion if they wanted a review code. “In any case… Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is almost here. Expect first impressions next week.”

A Month for In-Depth Reviews

It’s unusual for studios to provide review codes to the media a full month before a game’s release. The standard industry practice is to distribute them one to two weeks prior to launch, primarily to avoid leaks and ensure that the delivered version is stable. When a studio opts to send out codes this early, as with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it typically reflects high confidence in the final product—especially noteworthy since the release date was moved up.

This strategy has several advantages, allowing reviewers and content creators ample time to thoroughly explore the game and highlight its strengths. However, it’s also likely to lead to leaks, gameplay videos, and spoilers over the coming weeks. The next few days will determine whether Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 lives up to the community’s expectations. Remember, the game launches on February 4 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
