Can One of the Top Survival Games Be Ported to Nintendo Switch 2?

A rumor has surfaced about Nintendo’s yet-to-be-announced next-generation platform that could include a game that’s still popular today.

It’s a game that was released over eight years ago, and has since received a number of free updates to become the game that fans love today. We’re talking about Hello Games’ creation No Man’s Sky, and in this context, an insider has mentioned that he believes the game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 thanks to a new port.

If Sean Murray’s game is indeed targeting the Nintendo Switch 2, we can certainly expect much stronger graphics on the Big N’s new platform, especially when compared to the Nintendo Switch version. The multiplayer mode could also be a big hit on the platform, although we should also add that Hello Games has not yet confirmed a port for the platform, so we don’t know the release date and timeframe of the possible port at this moment.

Nash Weedle wrote on Twitter that No Man’s Sky will get a Nintendo Switch 2 port, and there may be another real reason behind it: when Steam Deck was released in 2022, it quickly became popular on Valve’s portable PC, so you can access No Man’s Sky on more than just a handheld. With rumors suggesting that the Nintendo Switch 2’s performance may lag behind the PlayStation 4 Pro (we’ve written about this in more detail), it’s also not practical to expect 8K resolution (although this is possible on the PlayStation 5 Pro, as we’ve reported in the past).

Indeed, the success of the Nintendo Switch 2 will depend on how much external, third-party developers support it with ports, as internally developed, first-party titles alone may not be able to carry a console on their back. No Man’s Sky port not official yet!
