Exciting New Sequel Launching on PlayStation 6!

Sony is already planning its next-generation console (after all, the PlayStation 5 Pro has been released), and the title in question could be the opening title.

One of the PlayStation 6 exclusives could be a no-brainer, but that doesn’t mean the public isn’t looking forward to it. We don’t know anything about next-gen consoles yet, so the question will be how much more and better the hardware will be able to do than PCs, and how long before consoles are essentially just PCs? Of course, the bigger games (e.g. Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet) will require beefy hardware.

PlayStation 6 may be able to offer highly photorealistic graphics, frame rate refinement, and all of this can be exploited by internally developed first-party titles that will certainly take advantage of the new version of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling on the new Sony console. The platform will also be home to The Last of Us Part III, which was reported in the press back in February 2023. At the time, it was rumored that it would be coming to PlayStation 5, but it’s more likely that Naughty Dog is planning this project for PlayStation 6, so a remaster or remake could be planned for PS6, as we saw one of each of the first two installments on PlayStation 5.

Not much is known about The Last of Us Part III, so it’s even questionable how closely it will follow the events of the first two games. Will Ellie be the main character, or Abby, or both? Will someone new replace her? Either way, we don’t know the answer. What we do know is that Naughty Dog’s next game will be a new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. It’s completely different from anything we’ve seen from the studio before.

This is all unofficial, of course. The PlayStation 6 release is about 2 years away, if not more.
