Monster Hunter Wilds: Second Beta Brings New Monsters and Key Details

The second beta for Monster Hunter Wilds is confirmed, featuring fresh challenges with new monsters. Here are the schedules and platforms. Capcom has also clarified that most of the announced improvements and optimizations will only appear in the final version, so don’t worry if you encounter low FPS during the test.

Capcom recently revealed that a second beta test is on the way for Monster Hunter Wilds, the highly anticipated hunting RPG. Whether you’re looking to dive back into the action or missed the first phase, this is a must-play opportunity for fans. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto has shared key details about the beta’s content, schedule, and some exciting additions.

What to Expect from the Second Beta

This new beta will closely resemble the one held in November in terms of structure and content, but with two notable changes. First, the return of Gypceros, one of the oldest bird wyverns in the Monster Hunter series, last seen in the original 2004 game. For those unfamiliar, Gypceros is a tricky foe — it poisons, stuns, steals items, and even deceives hunters with clever tactics.

The second addition remains a mystery for now. According to the official website, there will be an undisclosed new feature — potentially a monster — that fans will likely encounter during the test. However, Capcom has noted that this beta won’t include many of the refinements made since the first test, such as improved optimization or new weapon moves. These enhancements are reserved for the full release.

Beta Schedules and Platforms

Here’s when you can access the beta, with all times listed in mainland European time. The beta will be available across all participating platforms simultaneously: PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
