There are rumors of games coming to PlayStation 5, but there are also titles that could be coming to Nintendo Switch 2.
There are also rumors that several major Xbox exclusives could make the jump to PlayStation 5 in 2025. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and DOOM: The Dark Ages will also appear on Sony’s platform, but there are more titles on the way. Windows Central editor Jez Corden has heard that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, Age of Mythology: Retold and Gears of War 1 Ultimate Edition are all coming to PlayStation 5. Gears of War is the big surprise, as it was one of the Xbox 360’s defining IPs (and only the first installment got a PC port back in the day). In fact, the Ultimate Edition remaster was released 10 years ago (in 2015!), another sign that the franchise, originally created by Epic Games but now developed by The Coalition, is also saying goodbye to Xbox exclusivity.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II was too similar to the first game, but it was still a pretty good game, but it was still a bit of a layered game, so it would benefit from a multiplatform release. Corden added that the aforementioned games could all appear on the Nintendo Switch 2, but Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II would be a challenge on the big N platform because it’s a pretty massive title graphically.
According to another insider, NateDrake, Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator could also be coming to both PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which is rumored to be coming in June (but this is speculation), could also be multiplatform. Final Fantasy VII Remake is said to be coming this year, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be coming next year for the Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2.
But this is all just a rumor!
