“The Story Isn’t Over Yet” – After Baldur’s Gate 3 Success, Swen Vincke Teases New Adventures

“The story isn’t over yet.” Swen Vincke, the visionary behind the success of Baldur’s Gate 3, reminds fans that Larian Studios has much more to offer. The studio head invites players to stay tuned for what’s next.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has undeniably left its mark on the gaming world. Yet, Larian Studios has faced tremendous challenges throughout its nearly 30-year history, enduring moments of severe crisis. Swen Vincke, the director of the 2023 Game of the Year (GOTY), recently reflected on these experiences, assuring fans that the studio is far from finished.

Veteran Joystick recently uploaded a YouTube documentary chronicling Larian Studios’ journey, including its darkest days. Founded by Vincke, the studio was on the brink of bankruptcy before achieving success with the two Divinity: Original Sin titles. These milestones set the stage for the acclaimed Baldur’s Gate 3.

Vincke reacted publicly to Veteran Joystick’s video on X (formerly Twitter, via GamesRadar+), emphasizing that Larian’s journey is far from over. “I’m feeling nostalgic—it’s truly been an incredible journey so far,” Vincke commented on the YouTube content. “But the story isn’t over yet. Stay tuned.” His remarks underline that the team continues to move forward without slowing down.

In addition to the upcoming Patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s widely known that Larian Studios is working on two new projects. While little is known about these games, the team acknowledges the high bar set by its latest fantasy RPG and aims to surpass it with its future releases. Fans should keep a close eye on all of Larian’s upcoming endeavors.
