Nearly 5000 Entrants for the e-Sports Games in 2024

Nearly 5,000 entrants competed in 9 different games last year as a result of the 2024 cooperation between K&H and the Hungarian E-sports Association (HUNESZ). Among the many events of last year, the Hungarian Replacement Program, the sixth season of the K&H MNEB and the launch of the women’s e-sports branch stand out.

The K&H Group has been a committed supporter of the Hungarian e-sports community for years, and in 2024 it played a prominent role in the development of the sport. K&H supported such significant events as the sixth season of the K&H Hungarian National E-sports Championship (MNEB6), the V4 Esport Coalition Cup (V4ECC), and the K&H University E-sports Cup. In addition, the financial institution contributed to the international participation of the Hungarian e-sports team at the e-sports world championship organized by the International E-sports Federation (IESF).

“Last year, we placed great emphasis on the development of players within the framework of the Hungarian Youth Development Program, which supported young people with mentoring, infrastructure, and competition opportunities. As a result, the Hungarian Student Team achieved second and third place at the V4 Esports Coalition Cup. “It is important that in such a young and dynamically developing sport, we also support the talents of the future” – said Nóra Horváth Magyary Voljč, Head of Communications at K&H Group. In 2024, K&H and HUNESZ paid special attention to supporting female players and the women’s sector: on March 8, on the occasion of Women’s Day, the Hungarian E-sports Association Women’s E-sports Sector was established, which is not only intended to promote the emergence of female competitors in e-sports, but also has a serious community-building power. In the final of the Valorant 2v2 Spike Queen Challenge powered by K&H, organized on the occasion of the first women’s sector day, the best 4 women’s teams compared their talents. On the occasion of the sector day, experts presented and discussed topics such as the potential of women’s e-sports career opportunities, the presence of women in the gaming world, as well as in international and domestic organizations and competitions. In addition, the challenges of being a woman and a parent were also discussed.

Hungary on the international e-sports map

In addition to their domestic successes, e-sports players have also achieved good results in numerous international competitions at regional and European levels. The players of the Hungarian E-sports Team were selected in qualifiers supported by K&H. They represented Hungary in prominent international e-sports events announced for national teams, including, for example, the EA Sports FC24, Counter-Strike 2 men’s and women’s competitions, Dota 2, PUBG MOBILE and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang categories. They achieved first place in the EA Sports FC24 regional competition, while they achieved fourth place in the Dota 2 game at the European qualifier.

The success of domestic e-sports is proven not only by the excellent results, but also by the viewership. During 2024, nearly 3 million people followed the online broadcasts of various championships and competitions for more than 10 million minutes.
