Final Revelation: Did Elon Musk Really Exploit Path of Exile 2?

After being pressured by the Path of Exile 2 community, Elon Musk has confessed to “cheating” by granting others access to his RPG account. Several content creators and ARPG experts have alleged that he is not nearly as skilled a player as he claimed.

Elon Musk’s fascination with gaming has already made waves in the media. The South African entrepreneur has frequently emphasized his passion for video games like Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2. Yet, this latter title has stirred up controversy, with many hardcore RPG fans asserting that the Twitter/X owner might have exaggerated his prowess by using an account partly controlled by someone else. In light of growing doubts, Musk eventually admitted that other players had operated his profile while he was not actively involved.

Elon Musk Confirms “Boosting” His Character in Path of Exile 2

Suspicions intensified when YouTuber Quin69TV examined Musk’s livestream and pointed out that the billionaire did not appear to grasp pivotal aspects of the game. During the broadcast, Musk made ambiguous remarks about his gear and seemed unable to handle advanced features such as endgame maps, fueling speculation about his actual expertise.

In a later exchange with user NikoWrex, Musk acknowledged that he permitted others to level up his character—essentially confirming the boosting activities that violate the game’s terms of service. Despite this revelation, he defended his accomplishments, referring to his two-minute map runs as “special.” Critics immediately drew parallels with cheating in other competitive titles like Counter-Strike 2, suggesting that his achievements owed everything to more skilled players.

This incident has sparked questions about whether Grinding Gear Games, the studio behind Path of Exile 2, enforces its regulations evenly. The developer is known for taking a hard line against average players caught cheating or sharing accounts, leaving many to wonder if Musk will face the same consequences or receive preferential treatment due to his fame.

Musk’s situation places the integrity of the Path of Exile 2 environment under scrutiny, highlighting how influential figures are handled within the gaming world. The community is now awaiting an official statement from GGG to determine whether the rules truly apply to all, irrespective of one’s real-world stature or influence.
