TECH NEWS – Samsung, in partnership with Corning Incorporated, today announced an industry first with the Galaxy S25 Ultra featuring Corning Gorilla Armor 2, an anti-glare, glass-ceramic coating designed for mobile devices. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra features this revolutionary innovation on its front display, marking a milestone in mobile display technology.

Gorilla Armor 2 is a breakthrough in glass-ceramic technology, combining exceptional durability and superior clarity on smartphone displays.

The inclusion of Gorilla Armor 2 in the Galaxy S25 Ultra reinforces the long-standing partnership between Samsung and Corning, and the two companies’ commitment to innovation and user satisfaction.

Gorilla Armor 2 delivers even greater durability than the first-generation Corning® Gorilla® Armor® Armor, as the new protective layer is even more resistant to the harsh conditions of everyday life. Gorilla Armor 2 is designed to withstand damage, such as shattering, when dropped on a rough surface that puts the display to the test.

Gorilla Armor 2’s anti-reflective properties significantly reduce surface reflections in both indoor and outdoor environments. It can further enhance the display’s contrast ratio and provide an exceptional user experience in a wide range of lighting conditions.

Gorilla Armor 2 has been tested in Corning’s labs to withstand drops of up to 2.2 meters onto a concrete-like surface, while alternative glass-ceramic materials have failed the test even when dropped from 1 meter. Gorilla Armor 2 also maintains its exceptional scratch resistance, delivering more than four times the scratch resistance of competing lithium aluminum silicate cover glass with anti-reflective coating.1
