MOVIE NEWS – Renée Zellweger returns in all her glory in the romantic comedy Bridget Jones: The Drive, the fourth installment in the series. She can, as she previously took a six-year break, not taking on any roles, and has been very selective about which films she signs on for since then. The long break lasted from 2010 to 2016, and Bridget Jones is Expecting a Baby marked the end of this period. Renée had a serious reason for taking time off: she was slowly starting to hate herself, so she knew it was time to take herself out of the spotlight, at least for a while.
“I already got a rash from my own voice – the actress reveals in her latest interview with British Vogue. – As I said my lines, a voice inside me said, “Jesus, are you sad again, Renée? Can you speak like that? My tone of voice reflected my state of mind.” The actress spent her six years of vacation not in passive relaxation, but in very fruitful activity. “I wrote music and studied international law. I built a house, rescued a few old dogs from the shelter, found a business partner with whom we started a production company, raised money for a seriously ill friend, spent a lot of time with my family and godchildren, and traveled the country with my dogs. And I’m fine.”
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy presents our favorite heroine in a new situation: now a widow, but she still craves romantic feelings as before, and the long-awaited meetings are not long in coming.
