TECH NEWS – According to a well-known display analyst, Apple may have changed its plans from what has been rumored.
The Cupertino-based company is doing some interesting things with the iPhone SE 4, which will have strong components that will allow it to keep up with other devices while not being too expensive… but in the meantime, Apple has made some cost-cutting moves to maintain the company’s profit margin. One of those moves seems to be ditching Dynamic Island, as we’re already hearing that Apple will be using the older notch solution instead, so we could be seeing a bit of an old-fashioned direction here.
Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants wrote on Twitter that the display will have the notch seen on the iPhone 14, meaning that Apple has been adopting the solution used on devices released in 2022 one by one. The company is probably sticking with it because it wants to differentiate the iPhone SE 4 from the iPhone 16 (Dynamic Island is seen on all models) so that users can distinguish the budget model from the others.
Notch like iPhone 14 is correct

Not only is Dynamic Island more expensive, it also drains the battery faster, allowing Apple to save on the display. If Young’s prediction about the iPhone SE 4 is correct, only that model will get a notch on the display. Reportedly, the company wants to release the device in Japan for less than the equivalent of $500 in yen, so Apple had to make some compromises to make the device more affordable. This model will have 8GB of RAM in addition to the A18 chip, but it will be mainly in the camera area that there will be some savings. There will be a 48-megapixel module on the back of the device.
However, for everyday use, generative (content-creating) artificial intelligence functions, maybe running a few AAA games, the iPhone SE 4 could be a good choice. However, it is not yet official whether the device will actually leave Dynamic Island or not.
