Hungarian-Developed Game Gets a New Subtitle: Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree! [VIDEO]

Publisher Knights Peak and developer Primal Game Studio have announced Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree, a dark fantasy action-RPG. This game marks the beginning of a new story-driven universe, blending Soulslike and Metroidvania elements. The title is set to launch on April 17, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.

Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree is more than just a new name—it lays the foundation for a vast, immersive fantasy world. Written by Brian Mitsoda, the game is set in a grim realm ravaged by Entropy, where players must battle nightmarish creatures and make choices that shape the fate of their world. With an emphasis on challenging combat and deep storytelling, the game is designed to captivate dark fantasy fans.

Eugenio Vitale, VP of Publishing at Knights Peak, emphasized the significance of the title: “This is more than just a rebranding. It allows us to create a cohesive universe where future projects can take root without losing connection to the core IP.” Similarly, Zoltan Zsuffa, CEO of Primal Game Studio, highlighted the community’s role in shaping the vision: “Players have made it clear that this game is more than just another action RPG. Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree encapsulates everything they seek in a dark fantasy adventure.”

The game features six distinct character classes, over 200 upgradable abilities, and a rich, branching narrative with multiple endings. The soundtrack, composed by Christos Antoniou (Septicflesh), is performed by the FILMharmonic Orchestra of Prague, adding to the immersive experience.

Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree is now available for preorder on PC, with an exclusive Digital Deluxe Edition offering additional content for early buyers.
