AMD RX 9070 XT: A Real Challenger to the RTX 50 Series?

TECH NEWS – If AMD’s latest leak turns out to be true, NVIDIA might have a serious problem on its hands. The Radeon RX 9070 XT’s expected performance could make the RTX 50 series’ stock shortages a thing of the past.

Rumors surrounding the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT have been making waves recently, but the latest leaks have created an even bigger stir. Just a few days ago, speculation arose that AMD was preparing to undercut NVIDIA with an aggressive pricing strategy. However, if the latest leaks are accurate, AMD might not just compete on price—its performance could also give NVIDIA something to worry about.

A Serious Competitor to the RTX 50 Series?

According to PC Gamer, multiple leaks have hinted at the existence of the Radeon RX 9070 XT, but this time, key specifications have been revealed. Reports suggest that the GPU will feature 4,096 shader cores, 16GB of GDDR6 memory, and a 256-bit bus, aligning with the expectations of PC gamers. Furthermore, a leaked benchmark shows that the card reached 211.7 fps in Monster Hunter Wilds at 1080p. This places it above the RX 7800 XT but below the RX 7900 XT, positioning it as a powerful mid-range offering.

Can AMD Get Ahead of NVIDIA?

The rumors also suggest that the RX 9070 XT may have a boost clock of up to 3,100 MHz, which is higher than expected—likely due to an aggressive factory overclock. AMD CEO Lisa Su has already stated that the company is targeting an early March release for this GPU. If that holds true, it could arrive before the NVIDIA RTX 5070, which is also rumored for a March launch.

NVIDIA has officially announced a February 20 release date for the RTX 5070 Ti, but some sources claim the company is considering a strategic delay to ensure a strong initial stock. If RTX 50 series availability issues persist, AMD could gain a huge advantage by getting the RX 9070 XT to market in sufficient quantities. If it delivers on expectations and comes at a competitive price, it could easily become one of the top choices for gamers.
