Tony Hawk is Back? A Pro Skater’s Slip-Up Hints at a New Remaster!

Skate fans are excited again. Tony Hawk’s return seems closer than ever after pro skater Tyshawn Jones revealed his involvement in a new project that appears to be a remaster.

The Tony Hawk franchise is more than just a video game series—it’s a cultural phenomenon that has shaped gaming since the late ’90s. Many players have fond memories of pulling off insane tricks, and when Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 was released a few years ago, it proved the franchise was still going strong. Now, rumors suggest that a new installment is on the way.

Could Tony Hawk Be Making a Comeback?

During an interview with The Breakfast Club Power 105.1, professional skater Tyshawn Jones casually dropped a major bombshell: he is involved in a new Tony Hawk project. All indications suggest that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 remaster is in development. “I’m working on a new Tony Hawk game that’s coming out, so that’s cool,” he revealed.

“They’re remastering another one, and it’s coming soon. I was also in the last Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2,” Jones added. Speculation about this project has been swirling for years, and after Vicarious Visions merged with Activision in 2020, many feared the franchise had been put on ice. However, this latest hint suggests that the company has greenlit a new title. This shouldn’t be too shocking, as Tony Hawk himself mentioned five months ago that he was “talking to Activision again.”

Back in June 2022, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 was planned as the next project, but Activision’s studio merger put an end to those plans. Even though Hawk reassured fans that “the franchise has a future”, the details remain unclear. If a remaster is indeed in the works, we can expect upgraded visuals, refined controls, and a killer soundtrack blending old-school classics with fresh hits.
