Huawei Mate XT: Struggling To Find Buyers In Western Markets!

TECH NEWS – The Chinese company’s device, which currently has few competitors, is lagging behind in some respects!

The Huawei Mate XT can no longer be purchased only in China. With this, the bi-fold smartphone has become officially available in several countries, but it absolutely cannot be called a cheap device. In Europe, you will have to pay 3,500 euros, or nearly one and a half million forints, so this will not be a mainstream device, meaning that the phone will not be bought en masse. However, if there is someone who undertakes to invest in the Mate XT, they will be in for another unpleasant surprise!

In short: Google Play is not available on the device. Both Europe and North America have accepted the duopoly, as iOS and Android have the overwhelming majority in terms of market share. There is no third player (who is not insignificant in the market). Huawei is trying out the HarmonyOS Next platform, which is supposedly completely in-house and does not rely on AOSP (Android Open Sourcr Project). Google Play is missing! According to the IDC analyst, there is another reason behind the appearance of the Huawei Mate XT: the Chinese company wants to encourage early buyers to upgrade their hardware, and thus not target mainstream consumers.

Even if only 500 thousand units of the Huawei Mate XT are made, the Chinese company could earn about $ 1.5 billion from sales, which is not a small amount for one product. Moreover, with this product, the company is testing whether it can regain its former position and is also trying to keep the brand well-known. However, the US government is trying to paint Chinese products in a bad light. HarmonyOS Next could still change the public perception of the device a lot. A successful app store needs to have a lot of well-known apps. The Chinese company is reportedly in talks with its partners to make this happen.

And because of this, Huawei’s situation is not exactly rosy. It will be difficult to win from here, but it remains to be seen what it can do with its device in the Western market.
