The only problem is that the development team for these two games will not be the same one that created Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.
That was previously developed by Vicarious Visions, but now Iron Galaxy is working on a modernized version of the two games, which were already released for the PS2 generation, that will be cross-gen and available on Xbox Game Pass. It will be available in multiple editions. The basic/cross-gen version will cost €/$50. PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 versions will be available with a PlayStation purchase, and Xbox Series and Xbox One versions will be available with a single Xbox purchase.
The Digital Deluxe Edition (€/$70) will also feature Doom Slayer and The Revenant as playable characters, each with two special moves. Doom Slayer will ride the Unmaykr Hoverboard and will have two unique costumes. Exclusive Doom Slayer, The Revenant, and Create-a-Skater boards will also be included (so you can make your own skater), and there will be unique Create-a-Skater items in this release. In addition to the contents of the Digital Deluxe Edition, the Collector’s Edition ($130) will also include a full-size Birdhouse board with Tony Hawk’s signature (but only printed on the board).
Those who pre-order will get access to the Foundry demo (which would be the first map in THPS3) in June, and will also get the Wireframe Tony shader when the full game is released. Pre-orderers of the Digital Deluxe and Collector’s Editions will have access to the game three days before release, meaning all levels and skateboards from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 will be updated. Since the revert move, which allows you to continue combos by landing from half/quarter pipes and ramps, first appeared in THPS3, you’ll be able to score big. There will also be cross-platform multiplayer with up to eight players.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on July 11 (pre-orders can play from July 8).
