Dark Mass: No One Can Hear You Scream Underwater! [VIDEO]

Path Games (most recently the developers of Insomnium) is making a psychological horror game set in a mansion completely underwater.

In Dark Mass, players take on the role of Alice, a deep-sea explorer who, along with her brother Reed, stumbles upon the wreckage of an ancient ship. But beneath it lies something far more sinister – a mansion lost to time, eerily untouched despite centuries in the abyss. As Alice ventures inside, she soon realizes she is not alone. Something is watching from the darkness. Trapped in the decaying halls of the manor, she must unravel the secrets of its past, solve dark ritualistic puzzles, and face the terrible truth that binds her to this place. Featuring fully voiced dialogue, immersive underwater physics, and a haunting narrative, Dark Mass promises a terrifying descent into the unknown, where every choice matters and survival is far from guaranteed.

In the first fully underwater horror experience, explore a sunken mansion where movement is affected by the deep-sea environment, adding a unique layer of suspense and immersion. Communicate with your brother Reed via a fully voiced walkie-talkie system as you uncover the terrifying truth behind the manor’s curse. Solve unique challenges inspired by historical inquisitorial tortures to unlock the Manor’s darkest secrets. Evade Silas, a monstrous entity that has been bound to the manor for centuries, waiting for its next victim. Your actions will determine how Alice’s story unfolds, leading to multiple endings.

The announcement comes a bit early from Path Games, as this is not a game that will hit players later this year. Dark Mass is scheduled for release in the fall of 2026, a year and a half from now, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC. So far, the game looks quite appealing.
