Charlize Theron Tears Into Steven Seagal After Watching His Ridiculous Fight Clip on YouTube

MOVIE NEWS – Charlize Theron publicly criticized Steven Seagal after seeing a strange video of him on YouTube: “Look it up, it’s ridiculous.” The actress expressed doubt over the aikido star’s combat skills and pointed out that he’s not known for treating women well either.

Steven Seagal’s on-set reputation is anything but warm and friendly. Over the years, numerous actors have called him out for his behavior. John Leguizamo once claimed Seagal punched him on the first day of rehearsal and labeled him a terrible person. His infamous standoff with Jean-Claude Van Damme has also made headlines. But perhaps the most scathing criticism came from Charlize Theron.

What’s surprising is that Theron and Seagal have never worked together, despite both having deep roots in action cinema. Still, during a promotional interview from a few years ago, Theron took the opportunity to mock Seagal without hesitation.

While promoting her Netflix film The Old Guard, Theron spoke about how she preps for action roles by watching fighting clips online. One particular video kept showing up: “There’s this weird clip of Seagal fighting in Japan, but it’s not real fighting. He’s just overweight and pushing people around. Look it up—it’s absurd. He’s just pressing on people’s faces. It’s like a bad highlight reel.”

Theron Calls Out Seagal’s Behavior Towards Women

When asked why she felt so strongly about Seagal, Theron didn’t mince words. The Mad Max: Fury Road actress, who also had a well-publicized fallout with co-star Tom Hardy, said: “I don’t mind calling him out because he’s not nice to women.” She wrapped her comment with a blunt: “So… fuck you!”

Steven Seagal has faced multiple accusations over the years involving harassment, discrimination, and even sexual assault. Given this background, Theron’s disdain seems less about martial arts and more about his personal history. Still, despite his long film career in combat roles, some remain skeptical of his real-life fighting abilities.

The Old Guard 2 is slated to hit Netflix on July 2, 2025. This time, Uma Thurman, best known for her iconic role in Kill Bill, will join Theron in what promises to be another action-packed installment.
