Samsung Galaxy S25: Huge Performance Improvement with the New One UI?

TECH NEWS – A new device from the South Korean company could show a huge improvement in performance, according to a benchmark test…

Samsung has continued its work. Running on Android 16 is the unique user interface One UI 8, and the first proof of the company’s efforts has arrived in the form of the base Galaxy S25. Well, it’s not the device that is the surprise (it’s already available in stores), but what a benchmark result has revealed. Probably in the coming weeks we will also see results for the Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra, and for these we understandably expect higher scores.

The results for the base model are also surprising. The Samsung Galaxy S25 with One UI 8 performed 32% better than the device with One UI 7! The device in question is model number SM-S931B and has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor paired with 12 GB of RAM. The single and multi-core results are surprising! The Galaxy S25 running One UI 8 scored 3057 and 9909 points in the single and multi-core test results, while the device running One UI 7 scored 2314 and 9158 points.

The implication is that the latest One UI from the South Koreans is less resource-intensive when running background apps, so the CPU and GPU of this year’s smartphones can be better utilized during testing. It’s also possible that the upcoming update will offer a more polished user experience. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see the other results, because if the other two Galaxy S25s have such a stellar single-core test result, then Samsung really must have worked a miracle (because the right optimization can work wonders).

The release date for One UI 8 is not yet known, but we can say that Samsung (like Apple) frequently pushes software updates to smartphones. It’s not official yet, but it’s not so easy to fake a test result in Geekbench 6…
