NINTENDO NEWS – The Japanese company will be drawing from its new platform’s game library for Nintendo Switch 2, but the list of games is still pretty thin.
According to the announcement from the big N, older games will be available under a new collection name, as you’ll now have to look for them under Nintendo Classics. Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics is coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, and we already know when some of the titles from the GameCube lineup will be available to play. It will also be possible to use the GameCube controller. However, this will only be available to players with a Nintendo Switch Online membership. It will be wireless, so you won’t have to worry about it getting tangled or someone tripping over it.
The Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack will be expanded with three games when Nintendo Switch 2 launches. F-Zeor GX, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Soulcalibur II will be added to the Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics lineup from the GameCube catalog. Of course, there will be more games to come, as these three titles are not the only ones the Big N has planned. Plug Into Adventure!, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Luigi’s Mansion, Pokemon Colosseum, Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, Super Mario Strikers, Super Mario Sunshine.
Of course, there are some Nintendo GameCube games that we’d like to see on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. Eternal Darkness, for example, is a game that might be missing from this list, but on second thought, I’m sure we could come up with more titles, but right now our brains are about the size of a sock with a hole in it.
So Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack will get the first three games on June 5, the day Nintendo Switch 2 launches. It remains to be seen how much Nintendo will charge for this, but we’ll learn more about the Japanese company’s more detailed plans as time goes on.
