TECH NEWS – We’re hearing that Nvidia’s next Blackwell architecture card won’t be any more expensive than the previous generation, the Ada Lovelace.
We’re getting closer and closer to the rumored April 16th release date of the RTX 5060 Ti, so it’s no wonder that more and more people are speculating how much Nvidia will charge for the card that the company has yet to reveal. A post surfaced on Board Channels stating that Nvidia will charge the same price as its previous card, the RTX 4060 Ti. So it will cost $400 for the 8GB version and $500 for the 16GB version.
Since 8GB of VRAM is getting ridiculously low these days, a lot of people will probably be looking at the 16GB version, and so it could compete with AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 or the soon-to-be-released RX 9060. The former is 16GB and can compete with the RTX 5070, but at $550 MSRP, it’s not so easy to find.
If the leaked specs are correct, the RTX 5060 Ti will have 4608 CUDA cores, an increase of just 6% over the previous model. It has a 128-bit memory bus (the RTX 4060 Ti had the same), but the power consumption could increase by 20W, so the card could consume 180W instead of 160W. The RTX 5070 has 6144 CUDA cores and a 192-bit memory bus… and here’s the rub. For $50 more, you get a much more powerful card, and compared to the previous generation, the RTX 5060 Ti is only half as powerful. So the value for money is questionable.
Of course, this is just speculation at this point, but who knows what will come of it, as Nvidia should announce the status of the RTX 5060 Ti within the next few days. The question is how much it will be affected by Donald Trump’s tariffs…
