The Outer Worlds 2: Nearly a Dozen Minutes with Obsidian’s New Game! [VIDEO]

Obsidian Entertainment’s next game has shown just how promising it can be via IGN.

Courtesy of IGN, we have a new look at the gameplay of The Outer Worlds 2. The first-ever sci-fi RPG takes about 11 minutes to show off the combat, stealth, and more that players can expect. While a trailer for The Outer Worlds 2 showed off some of the action during The Game Awards, this is the first real gameplay segment we’ve seen. Compared to the first installment, which was released in 2019 (well over six years ago now), the visuals are definitely better and the gameplay feels much smoother.

It should be added that V-Sync is not enabled. More than once, you’ll notice image degradation, so if you’re sensitive to it, don’t be surprised if you get a headache after watching the footage. Since this is not yet the final (or what can be called retail) version of the game, we have high hopes that Obsidian Entertainment will fix this. We’ll know more about the game soon, because on June 8th, after the annual Xbox Games Showcase, there will be another game that will be thoroughly previewed, and this year it’s The Outer Worlds 2. This will continue the tradition of Xbox showing an internal, first-party title in detail after the general showcase. The year before last it was Starfield from Bethesda Game Studios, and last year it was Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 from Treyarch.

There will be a few more near Xbox releases this year. DOOM: The Dark Ages, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 or Ninja Gaiden 4 will be among them. And let’s not forget Obsidian’s recently released Avowed. The fantasy RPG won’t be the only title from the Feargus Urquhart-led studio.

The Outer Worlds 2 will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on launch day for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, as well as on Battle.net.
