Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 Is Coming Next Week With 12 New Subclasses and More

After months of anticipation, the developers of Baldur’s Gate 3 have finally confirmed the release date for Patch 8, bringing 12 new subclasses and a host of other additions. “Patch 8 will be ready for release on Tuesday, April 15,” stated Larian Studios.

Since its original release, Baldur’s Gate 3 has become a defining title in the RPG genre, earning praise for its deep storytelling, vast player agency, and richly detailed world. The continued support from Larian Studios has been instrumental in maintaining interest, with each patch adding meaningful improvements that keep players coming back.

12 Subclasses, Photo Mode, Cross-Play, and More

Fans have been waiting for months, and now Patch 8 has an official release date: April 15. The update will launch simultaneously across PC and consoles and is shaping up to be one of the biggest updates yet. Among the highlights are 12 new subclasses, designed to diversify class mechanics and create even more play modes. A long-awaited photo mode is also introduced, letting players capture their most memorable adventures in the Forgotten Realms.

To showcase these changes, Larian has planned a special Twitch stream on April 16, where Ross Stephens and Aoife Wilson will walk viewers through everything new in Patch 8. Additional features include new spells, enhanced animations, more dialogue options, and fresh summonable creatures.

Beyond content, the patch also brings technical improvements: cross-play will be enabled across all platforms, and Xbox Series S users will finally be able to use split-screen, one of the key reasons why the game was delayed on Xbox consoles.

And there’s more good news: Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently 20% off on Steam, meaning new players can grab it for just €47.99. Whether you’re jumping in for the first time or returning for more, there’s never been a better time to play.
