The Elden Ring Expansion Adds Two New Classes – And Brings Extra Features to Switch 2

Get ready to return to the Lands Between, because FromSoftware is bringing two new classes and even more features to its open-world epic. This content will be included in the Nintendo Switch 2 version, while PlayStation, Xbox, and PC users can access it via a “low-priced” DLC.

FromSoftware is preparing to reach a new audience with Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, the version that brings the journey through the Lands Between to the Nintendo Switch 2. It was already known that this edition would include new weapons, armor sets, and a skin for customizing Torrentera, as well as access to the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. Now, however, it’s been confirmed that this content will also feature two brand-new classes, and will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via downloadable content.

FromSoftware hosted an event in Tokyo to talk about some of the core features of the upcoming Elden Ring: Nightreign, the multiplayer-focused game that launches on May 30. But as reported by Famitsu (via Genki on X), the presentation also included a segment about Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and the new features it will soon introduce to players.

In addition to weapons, armor, and skins, the new Elden Ring content includes the two aforementioned classes (tentatively translated as “Heavy Armor Knight” and “Knight of Ides“; no further details have been shared yet), as well as new moves to help survive battles in the Lands Between. In short, there’s more than enough reason for players to return to FromSoftware’s open world.

The content will arrive on PlayStation, Xbox and PC via DLC

All of this will be included in the Nintendo Switch 2 version, but PlayStation, Xbox, and PC players will also be able to access the new features through a low-priced DLC called the Tarnished Pack. The pack’s cost has not been disclosed at the time of writing. Still, Bandai Namco or FromSoftware is expected to release a more detailed statement regarding this update soon.
