Daredevil: Born Again: Shocking Viewership Data!

MOVIE NEWS – Daredevil: Born Again was supposed to be a triumphant return for Matt Murdock in the MCU, but new viewership figures reveal that it fell short of expectations compared to other Marvel Studios shows like Agatha All Along, Echo, and even the much-maligned Secret Invasion. According to Nielsen, the series failed to make the Top 10 chart in its debut week, making it the first Marvel Studios TV show to miss out entirely.

Daredevil: Born Again premiered on March 4 with a two-episode debut that, according to Disney, racked up over 7.5 million views within the first five days on Disney+. It was the platform’s biggest premiere of 2025 at the time, yet it couldn’t match Loki Season 2’s 10.9 million views in just three days or Agatha All Along’s 9.3 million in its first week. Even Secret Invasion managed to break into the Nielsen Top 10 in 2023, and Echo achieved the same milestone in January 2024.

Ordinarily, such a disappointing debut might spell the end for a show, but the MCU doesn’t play by normal Hollywood rules. In the Marvel universe, even failed shows can be used to introduce or support characters who later find their place elsewhere in the franchise’s sprawling narrative.

Daredevil: Born Again was one of the most highly anticipated Marvel projects of 2025, and one of the few actually slated for Disney+ this year. While reviews weren’t as glowing as those for the original Netflix series, it still pulled in an impressive 87% Tomatometer and 80% Popcornmeter score, better than many recent Marvel offerings.

Season 2 Already Filming – More Familiar Faces and Big Plans

Even before the first episode aired, it was clear there was a bigger picture in mind: Season 2 began filming almost in parallel with the Disney+ premiere. Now, instead of being a one-and-done show, Daredevil: Born Again is being positioned as a recurring series that could become an annual fixture rather than a one-off.

Insiders have already hyped up Season 2 as containing “some of the best writing” the franchise has seen, and now that the story and setting within the MCU have stabilized, the rocky start is behind them. With the return of beloved characters like Jessica Jones in the next season, excitement around the show is expected to grow. Whether Daredevil: Born Again can finally crack the Nielsen chart next time remains to be seen in 2026.
