God of War III’s Director Is Working on a New Dungeons & Dragons Action-Adventure!

Stig Asmussen, who also worked on the two Star Wars Jedi titles released so far, is developing the game with his team, Giant Skull, which was announced last March.

Wizards of the Coast has signed an exclusive publishing agreement with Giant Skull to create an original Dungeons & Dragons action-adventure game. Described as a brand-new single-player action-adventure experience set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe, it is currently in development for consoles and PC, with more information to be revealed at a later date. It will likely launch on next-gen hardware, including the PlayStation 6, the successor to the Xbox Series, and possibly the Nintendo Switch 2.

“Stig and the team at Giant Skull are exactly the type of exceptionally talented creators we want to work with, and I’m thrilled to be working with Stig again on this new project. During our time working together on God of War, I saw firsthand Stig’s artistry and expertise, and he and the team at Giant Skull are the perfect fit for our new game. World-building and storytelling are in our DNA, and this partnership reflects our ongoing evolution and commitment to our Playing to Win strategy as we build a stronger presence in digital gaming. We look forward to sharing more about this brand-new Dungeons & Dragons game in the future,” wrote John Hight, president of Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro digital gaming, in the press release.

“Our talented and experienced team at Giant Skull is built on creativity and curiosity. Our goal is to craft a rich new Dungeons & Dragons universe filled with immersive storytelling, heroic combat, and exhilarating traversal that players will fully embrace,” added Stig Asmussen, CEO of Giant Skull.

Wizards of the Coast has multiple studios working on projects: Archetype Entertainment is developing Exodus; Atomic Arcade is working on a Snake Eyes game; Invoke is developing another Dungeons & Dragons action-adventure title; and Skeleton Key is working on a new project promising suspense, horror, and memorable gameplay.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
