Silent Hill Remasters Beyond the Remakes of the First Two Games? [VIDEO]

It could be true or maybe they’re just floating the idea for now, but there’s a real chance that something’s in the works with one of Konami’s most legendary IPs…

According to a fresh online teaser, classic Silent Hill games might soon get the remaster treatment. Fans have plenty to celebrate, as the franchise is enjoying a renaissance: the recently released Silent Hill 2 Remake has garnered widespread praise, while Silent Hill F and Return to Silent Hill are both on the horizon. We’re also expecting Silent Hill: Townfall and Bloober Team’s remake of the original game, though neither has a release window just yet.

Digital distributor GOG (Good Old Games) dropped a new teaser suggesting that the classic Silent Hill titles could see a modern-day revival. On July 17, GOG published a video on YouTube titled “This Game Shaped Me.” The CGI spot shows a Sony PlayStation hooked up to a classic CRT TV in a perfectly recreated ‘90s bedroom, with the screen displaying the original Silent Hill—first released on PS1 back in 1999. Several messages pop up, supposedly from GOG’s own community, reminiscing about their experiences with the iconic game.

After that, the camera zooms in on the Silent Hill gameplay, and a message highlights the GOG Dreamlist—a feature letting users vote on which classic games should be remastered or ported to PC. The initiative especially targets games that are now tough to find, either because they’re unavailable elsewhere or never received a DRM-free release. Thanks to GOG’s preservation push, iconic franchises like the Resident Evil trilogy, Devil May Cry 1–4, and Diablo are already accessible on modern platforms.

Silent Hill could be next, but only if it racks up enough votes on the Dream List. These PC ports don’t come cheap—especially since the original Silent Hill never had a native PC release—so it’s no surprise that GOG and Konami are keen to gauge interest before committing. Right now, Silent Hill boasts over 94,000 Dream List votes, while the video tags also include Silent Hill 2. That suggests GOG might be eyeing that title for a re-release too. Since Silent Hill 2 did get a PC version—and thanks to the top-notch Enhanced Edition fan mod, it still plays beautifully—an updated release seems well within reach. That game’s already got more than 95,000 votes, so it’s clear demand is huge for both entries.

Still, we’re not convinced: at this point, it’s just a video—not a proper teaser, and definitely nothing official.
