Elden Ring: FromSoftware’s Franchise Reaches More Milestones!

The Japanese studio has several reasons to be delighted with the impressive sales performance of Elden Ring.

FromSoftware and its publisher, Bandai Namco, have announced strong sales figures for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree and Elden Ring: Nightreign. First, let’s look at Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. This expansion pack for the base game was released on June 21, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, as well as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It did so well that it sold 5 million copies within three days of its release (which we probably reported on in the news last summer). Now, the new milestone is 10 million. In just over a year, players doubled FromSoftware’s results, which is quite an impressive achievement for the team.

Elden Ring: Nightreign was released on May 30 for the same platforms. This multiplayer spinoff sold two million copies in a single day. On June 3, FromSoftware and Bandai Namco announced that sales had already reached three and a half million. Nearly two months have passed since then, and we’ve just learned that Elden Ring: Nightreign has reached 5 million sales. Interest in the spin-off remains high, even though the Japanese studio has not previously ventured into anything like this on such a large scale with the Souls titles, although they did feature multiplayer elements.

Let’s return to Elden Ring for a moment. As we previously reported, FromSoftware’s gem will be getting a new port. Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition has been officially announced for the Nintendo Switch 2, which will be released sometime this year. This edition includes the base game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, allowing players to enjoy the full experience on the new Nintendo hardware right away.
