Silent Hill Remake Started Development Three Years Ago; May Launch in 2027 – Rumor

Konami and Bloober Team have announced that a new Silent Hill game is in the works, and the long-awaited remake might arrive sooner than most fans expected. Although the official reveal trailer dropped just last month, new information suggests the project has been in development for years, hinting at an earlier release than anticipated.

According to well-known leaker Dusk Golem, posting on X, Bloober Team has been developing the remake of the iconic survival horror for three years—starting even before they launched their Silent Hill 2 remake. With Konami’s recent push toward annual Silent Hill releases, the leaker believes the remake could arrive in 2027, following Silent Hill F (due this September) and Townfall (coming in 2026).

Last month’s announcement came with a short teaser trailer that, while not showing gameplay, made it clear through its music that the project was a remake of the original Silent Hill—something Konami officially confirmed soon after. While no other details have emerged, fans point to the success of Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 as proof the franchise is in good hands; Chris, in his review, even called it the studio’s best work to date.

“Silent Hill 2 is the best game Bloober Team has made. A faithful reimagining of the original, bringing it to the modern day without losing what made the original the best horror game ever, using modern game mechanics to improve where they could, and expanding on what was already an engrossing world. Without any shadow of a doubt, a resounding success, one that will likely come as a surprise to many.”

The Silent Hill remake remains in active development. Official release date and platforms have not been announced yet.
