Square Enix and Dokidoki Groove Works are expanding the Octopath Traveler franchise with a new installment—and it’s coming soon.
Start from scratch and experience the latest entry in the Octopath Traveler series! Dive into a story of restoration and revenge centered around divine rings across the realm of Orsterra. Classic features return, including the HD-2D graphics blending retro pixel art and 3DCG, roleplaying through Path Actions, and the Break and Boost battle system. New systems like character creation and town building let you forge your hero and restore your hometown.
You are the protagonist! Choose your appearance, voice, gestures, and favorite food using the new character creator, then rebuild your hometown, Wishvale. Invite allies to live in your town. Engage in strategic, command-based battles. Form a party of up to eight characters from over 30 potential allies. Use Path Actions to invite others, initiate combat, or gather items. Everything is up to you. The new skill system allows allies to learn and pass on skills.
During the annual Day of Reverence, Wishvale was filled with joy—until it was suddenly attacked and engulfed in red flames. Will you seek revenge or healing? The choice is yours. Break enemies by exploiting their weaknesses to reduce their Shield Points to zero, rendering them unable to act and vulnerable to attacks. Use Boost Points (BP), gained each turn, to enhance attacks, healing, or support actions. Use them wisely.
The standard edition will cost $50, while the Digital Deluxe edition costs $60 and includes the Deluxe Travel Provisions pack and a digital art book. Both editions come with the Travel Provisions pack as a pre-order bonus. Physical editions are coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, but the Switch 2 version will be available only as a Game Key Card.
A $230 Collector’s Edition will be available through the Square Enix Store. It includes the physical base game, a Ring of the Flamebringer (Japanese size 21), octagonal dice symbolizing wealth, power, and fame, a Traveler card deck, a map of Orsterra, a soundtrack CD (also sold separately), Octopath Traveler Arrangements Break & Boost Vol. 3, an art book, a Digital Deluxe upgrade code, and the Travel Provisions pack for pre-orders.
Octopath Traveler 0 launches December 4 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation 4.
