Grand Theft Auto VI: A Renowned Analyst Has Set the Price Bar High!

A well-known and popular gaming industry analyst believes that the upcoming game from Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive will not come cheap.

Grand Theft Auto VI could break records in the gaming industry, not only in terms of profits, but also in terms of price. According to the analyst, the game will cost more than any other on the market. In an interview with The Telegraph, Michael Patcher, an analyst at Wedbush Securities who has become famous for his bold predictions, said the new installment in the Rockstar Games series is expected to retail for $100. This would make it the first game sold at such a high price, not counting special and limited editions.

Regardless of the price, Patcher believes the game will be extremely profitable, generating an estimated $10 billion in total revenue and $500 million in annual revenue from Grand Theft Auto Online alone. Regarding the game’s budget, Patcher’s estimates align with those of other analysts who estimate the costs at $1.5 billion, including marketing expenses. Forecasts may vary, but analysts agree that Grand Theft Auto VI will be one of the biggest gaming releases of all time, if not the biggest.

Last month, Josh Chapman, a managing partner at Konvoy, confirmed the company’s forecast that the game would generate $7.6 billion in revenue within the first two months and that Take-Two could recoup its $2 billion investment within a month of the game’s release. Based on other indicators, such as the number of copies sold, number of players, and viewership, the new installment in the series is also expected to be a record-breaking release.

Grand Theft Auto VI is set to release on May 26 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Although Take-Two has not yet announced a PC port, based on the release dates of previous Rockstar Games titles, the game is expected to arrive on this platform in 2027.
