The highly anticipated Jurassic Park: Survival delivers exactly what fans have been craving: a desperate escape from a relentless T. Rex, all while experiencing a gripping story set in a dinosaur-filled world. Saber Interactive’s latest video highlights the predator’s raw power and sheds light on the protagonist’s backstory.
If you’re a devoted follower of the Jurassic Park or Jurassic World saga, you’re in for a treat. While Jurassic World Evolution 3 is set for release this October, another major project is in the works – a dinosaur survival horror game tied closely to the franchise’s lore. This is Jurassic Park: Survival, a tense mix of survival and stealth gameplay set on a hostile island brimming with threats.
First revealed at The Game Awards 2023 with a trailer that hinted at a blend of horror and dinosaur survival, the game went quiet for months. Now, Saber Interactive has broken the silence with a behind-the-scenes video showcasing early (pre-alpha) gameplay. The footage evokes the atmosphere of the original film, introducing protagonist Maya Joshi as she makes a desperate bid to escape a charging T. Rex.
Inside Jurassic Park: Survival
Jurassic Park: Survival is a first-person survival horror title in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with no confirmed release date. Its core gameplay revolves around evading dinosaurs, but there’s much more beneath the surface. The developers have focused heavily on authentic dinosaur behavior, from textures and animations to the weight of each footstep. The T. Rex encounter drives home that mistakes will be punished severely, often leading to multiple deaths.
The central character, Maya Joshi, is a doctor recruited by geneticist Henry Wu. She must overcome her fears and face off against some of the most dangerous prehistoric predators. The game offers multiple stealth and exploration paths through dense vegetation or hidden corners of the park. Over the coming months, Saber and Universal plan to release more videos detailing enemy AI and the balance between scripted moments and player freedom.
