Get ready: the creators of Cronos: The New Dawn aren’t stopping at their latest sci-fi release. Bloober Team has already set its sights on another project designed to terrify fans, even though their newest title just launched.
Bloober Team has become one of the studios to watch. After impressing players with the Silent Hill 2 Remake, they returned with Cronos: The New Dawn, now out on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2. While part of the team continues to polish the game with post-launch updates, others are already laying the groundwork for a brand-new title. This project is in pre-production, and early details suggest horror fans have reason to get excited.
CEO Piotr Babieno spoke to PAP Business (via Gaming Bolt) about the studio’s upcoming plans. He explained that the team is working on a “very big game” that aligns with their growth strategy. “The next big step for Bloober Team is to reach an even wider audience,” he said. “The title we’re currently developing, now in pre-production, will be a major release in line with our strategy that every project should be bigger than the last. Thanks to its concept, this game will mark a milestone for Bloober.”
Babieno added that Bloober’s method is to build on technology, workflows, and mechanics refined in previous games. By specializing in a single genre, horror, the studio can streamline production while still delivering impactful experiences. “We’re a vertical developer, meaning we focus on one area,” Babieno explained. “The systems we built during Silent Hill 2 Remake and Cronos development will fuel the next project, making it no more costly or time-consuming to produce than before. That’s the advantage of specialization.”
As for when fans might see this new project, Babieno didn’t reveal a date, but hinted: “We’ve scheduled major releases for the coming years in collaboration with multiple partners, and paradoxically I think 2026–2027 could be even stronger for Bloober than 2025, which I already expect to break records.” That means fans should keep an eye on Bloober’s announcements in the months ahead.
Cronos: The New Dawn Could Expand Beyond Games
Bloober Team seems confident enough to explore multiple avenues at once. In fact, Cronos may not remain limited to the gaming medium. Babieno revealed that “several Hollywood giants, including top film and streaming companies, have approached us about working with Bloober on the Cronos universe.” Whether these talks turn into a real project remains to be seen, but the possibility alone is enough to fuel speculation.
