Three Resident Evil Games Are Coming to Nintendo Switch 2! [VIDEO]

The rumors were true: Capcom is bringing RE Engine-powered games to Nintendo’s new platform.

First up is the Gold Edition of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard for the Nintendo Switch 2. The base game was released on January 24, 2017, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Then, on May 24, 2018, a cloud version was released for the Nintendo Switch. On June 13, 2022, the game was released for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Finally, on July 2, 2024, Ethan Winters’s story arrived on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The Gold Edition includes the Not a Hero DLC and other downloadable content.

Next is the sequel to Ethan Winters’s story: Resident Evil: Village Gold Edition. Resident Evil: Village was first released on May 7, 2021, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. Then, on October 28, 2022, it arrived on the Nintendo Switch as a cloud version. Finally, on October 30, 2023, the Eastern European adventure launched on iPhone, iPad, and Mac platforms. The Gold Edition includes DLCs such as the Winters’ Expansion and Trauma Pack.

Finally, there’s Resident Evil 9, also known as Resident Evil Requiem. Capcom made a surprising move here: instead of arriving later than on other platforms, the Nintendo Switch 2 version will launch simultaneously with the other consoles. There won’t be any expanded edition yet since we’re still waiting for the release of the base version.

As for the release date? It’s simple: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Gold Edition, Resident Evil: Village Gold Edition, and Resident Evil Requiem will all be released on February 27 for the Nintendo Switch 2. RE9 will launch on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC on the same day.
