TECH NEWS – It seems that Nvidia will do with the Blackwell architecture what it did with the previous Ada Lovelace generation.
Earlier reports suggested that Nvidia did not plan to release its GeForce RTX 5000 series this year, so expectations were low. However, a new leak hints that Nvidia may unveil refreshed graphics cards at CES in January, as Seasonic’s PSU calculator has added two new GPUs to its drop-down menu. After choosing a processor, users can now select a video card, and when Nvidia is chosen from the first menu, two GeForce RTX 5000 Super cards appear in the second: the RTX 5070 Super and RTX 5070 Ti Super.
We’ve been hearing about the rumored specifications of the RTX 5000 Super cards for months, and these GPUs could attract attention thanks to their increased VRAM capacity. Rumors suggest they will use 3 GB GDDR7 modules, boosting total VRAM by 50%. This would give the GeForce RTX 5070 Super 18 GB of GDDR7 VRAM and the RTX 5070 Ti Super 24 GB. This could be a key selling point for the RTX 5070 Super, as the current RTX 5070’s 12 GB is not considered future-proof — and may soon be insufficient for higher resolutions.
As for other specifications, no major changes are expected apart from higher TDP levels, according to the PSU calculator. The RTX 5070 Super is rumored to have a TDP of 275W (up from 250W on the standard model), while the RTX 5070 Ti Super may reach 350W (compared to 300W on the RTX 5070 Ti). These figures have been corroborated by previous leaks, and most other specifications are likely to remain unchanged on the Super variants.
The real question now is whether the reveal will happen at CES. There’s a strong possibility that the Super cards will be officially announced in early 2026 — but will the pricing be competitive?
