Battlefield 6: A Consumer-Friendly Move by Electronic Arts on PlayStation 5?

It seems that DICE‘s game will not be unfavorable towards Sony‘s console, which was released almost five years ago.

The Battlefield 6 PlayStation 5 disc version reportedly contains the entire game, so no additional downloads are required for the campaign or multiplayer modes. A lucky player who already had their hands on the long-awaited new installment of the hugely popular franchise shared this information on Reddit.

On Reddit, one of the early players shared some information about Battlefield 6. They reported that the entire game is on the Blu-ray disc and can be played without any additional downloads, contrary to the disappointing industry trend. In other words, if you don’t have an internet connection and just want to play the campaign, you can put the Blu-ray disc in your console’s optical drive and play. Additionally, the multiplayer servers are reportedly up and running, allowing those with early copies to enjoy the full experience without restrictions. This will allow them to avoid the almost certain server connection errors that will likely be reported over the weekend by us.

Packing the entire game onto a disc to avoid mandatory launch downloads suggests that the Battlefield 6 development teams have prioritized the technical aspects of the game. The game has been optimized for the Xbox Series S and PCs with minimum system requirements. Based on pre-order numbers, the market will likely reward this approach. According to Ampere Analysis data, the game has received approximately 1.7 million pre-orders and is expected to sell 5 million copies in its first week.

Battlefield 6 will be released on October 10 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Many people could benefit from the disc approach, which eliminates the need for gigantic first-day patches.
