Tyler Rake: Extraction Gears Up for a Powerful Comeback on Netflix

MOVIE NEWS – Netflix’s explosive action saga Tyler Rake: Extraction is officially coming back for a third round. Director Sam Hargrave has confirmed that development is underway, and Chris Hemsworth will once again lead the charge. Shooting is planned for 2026, with a release expected in 2027.

Chris Hemsworth turned Tyler Rake: Extraction into one of Netflix’s biggest action sensations, and he isn’t done yet. Speaking with Collider during the premiere of The Last Frontier, Hargrave explained that while Netflix hasn’t finalized a schedule, progress is moving full steam ahead. “We’re looking to film in 2026,” he said. “A lot depends on Chris’s Avengers commitments, but if everything lines up, we’ll be back with Tyler Rake in 2027.”

The 2020 debut of Tyler Rake: Extraction turned Hemsworth into a streaming action icon, while the 2023 sequel raised the stakes with breathtaking one-take sequences and relentless firefights worthy of John Wick. Now, the third film aims to take the franchise to an even greater level of intensity and spectacle.

While plot details remain tightly guarded, Hargrave has teased that Tyler Rake: Extraction 3 will push the boundaries of what’s possible in practical action filmmaking. The crew has already set the bar high with helicopter stunts, train-top battles, and brutal close combat — and they intend to go even further. Idris Elba’s mysterious character is expected to play a larger role, though Netflix has yet to confirm his return.

At the same time, a spin-off series is in development, expanding the Extraction universe with a fresh cast led by Omar Sy and Boyd Holbrook. Set in war-torn Libya, the show follows a mercenary navigating chaos, bloodshed, and emotional turmoil as he fights to save hostages from rival factions.

Neither the film nor the series has an official release date, but the Tyler Rake: Extraction universe looks set to explode back onto screens bigger and bolder than ever.
