Since the remake of the rail shooter is not yet available everywhere, fans have been eagerly awaiting MegaPixel Studio and Forever Entertainment to announce release dates for other platforms.
The House of the Dead 2: Remake is a modernized version of the beloved second installment in the iconic rail shooter franchise. Step into the shoes of James or Gary, secret AMS agents, and take down hordes of undead monsters either solo or in co-op mode. In February 2000, a small city was suddenly overrun by vicious creatures. AMS agents James Taylor and Gary Stewart were sent to investigate, only to find the outbreak strikingly similar to the Curien Mansion incident from 1998. Determined to uncover the source of the infection, they fought their way through waves of the undead.
The House of the Dead 2: Remake features remastered audio (with the original soundtrack available), upgraded visuals, faithful gameplay mechanics, cooperative play, multiple endings, and branching paths. Several modes are included: the classic campaign, set nearly two years after the first game’s events; Boss Mode, where players must defeat the main enemies as quickly as possible; and Training Mode, where players can refine their skills through multiple practice scenarios before diving into missions.
The Remake has already launched on two platforms — it was released on August 7 for PC (via Steam and GOG) and for the Nintendo Switch. Now, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions are on the way, arriving October 24. The game will be priced at €25 (around $25). It’s a bit ironic that the weakest console got the remake first, isn’t it?
