Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Exploded During a YouTube Test! [VIDEO]

TECH NEWS – During a YouTube durability test, Google’s latest foldable flagship, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, literally burst into flames when popular creator JerryRigEverything (Zach) put it to the test.

Google can talk all it wants about the durability of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, but when the device ended up in the hands of JerryRigEverything’s Zach on YouTube, he decided to put those claims to the ultimate test. Unfortunately, not only did the foldable’s battery catch fire, but the Mountain View tech giant still hasn’t fixed a serious structural flaw that could cause these smartphones to break down after only a few years of use.

Both the original Pixel Fold and Pixel 9 Pro Fold snapped at the same antenna line, and after performing multiple durability tests on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Zach discovered that Google still hasn’t learned from its past mistakes. The latest flagship suffers from the same catastrophic weakness — and it’s arguably even worse. The company’s claims about dust resistance also don’t hold up. After Google called it “the most durable foldable phone in its class,” Zach easily broke it in half, then tried to bend it back — and he probably would’ve succeeded if the punctured battery hadn’t started to smoke.

In the footage, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold bursts into flames, setting off the fire alarm during the video. Zach has spent a decade testing smartphone durability, but says this is the first time a device has actually caught fire in one of his videos. With over 10 million subscribers, the incident is bound to cause a stir and pressure Google into making an official statement soon.

Zach admitted his durability tests are extreme and jokingly advised viewers not to put an unfolded Pixel 10 Pro Fold in their pockets. While exploding smartphone batteries are rare, hopefully, Google will reconsider the placement of its antenna lines to improve the structural integrity of its foldable devices going forward.
