The Free Horror You Can Keep – A ’90s Nightmare Returns On PC

Grab a PC chiller inspired by Silent Hill and Resident Evil for zero dollars: Fear the Spotlight is claimable on Epic Games right now and free to keep until October 30.

Halloween is almost here, and players are lining up the perfect fright-night pick. The Epic Games Store has been easing the hunt with weekly giveaways, and it’s back at it with a freebie tailor-made for horror fans. PC users can claim Fear the Spotlight from developer Cozy Game Pals at no cost.

Epic’s routine remains the same: you have seven days to add the game to your library via the Epic Games Store app or website. In short, the giveaway runs now through October 30. After that, the carousel rotates and new titles take the slot.

If PS1-style visuals and vintage survival horror vibes are your jam, this one’s for you. Fear the Spotlight channels Silent Hill and Resident Evil as you step into the shoes of Vivian and prowl a nightmarish high school. Your mission is to find rebellious Amy — she slipped into the building for a séance and vanished — while dodging a mysterious entity stalking the halls. The devs pitch it as a “sinister love letter to ’90s horror” with a focus on story, puzzles, and a tense atmosphere.

More Freebies Next Week

Craving something even creepier? Epic has already named next week’s freebies starting October 30: the oddball Bendy and the Ink Machine and the nerve-shredding Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit. Consider your Halloween gaming plans sorted.
