Silent Hill f: The Lead Actor Also Streamed the Game; The Audience Loved It! [VIDEO]

The game from NeoBards Entertainment and Konami was streamed by the actor behind the protagonist, and the first broadcast has already drawn millions of views.

Konatsu Kato, the actor and model who lent her appearance and Japanese voice to protagonist Shimizu Hinako in Silent Hill f, kicked off a first playthrough stream, fulfilling a promise she made on Twitter earlier this month. So far, Kato has streamed once on YouTube, covering the opening of Silent Hill f and leaving a nearly two-hour VOD that has already surpassed 1.6 million views.

Kato and her chat speak Japanese — you can’t expect English there — and YouTube’s auto-translation is likely poor, especially when it leans on messy, auto-generated captions. Still, the universal “language of horror” is at work, making the stream easy to follow despite the barrier.

Whether Kato recoils from the screen during a tense moment, mirroring her character’s movements, or struggles to nail a button combo in a chase, these are moments horror players know well. A great beat came when she relaxed through a long cutscene, only to snap to attention as the game unexpectedly handed control back — a genuine surprise many of us have felt.

This stream underlines why horror is among the most stream-friendly genres: it elicits natural, captivating reactions (less risk of a lifeless webcam stare), and the shared scares pull viewers in. When the player yelps, the audience feels it too — maybe even with a grin. The open question is whether Kato will finish Silent Hill f.
