“This is brilliant.” A creator has built a massive, free community map for Battlefield 6 that is ideal if the official offerings leave you cold. Club House is a Fort Lyndon-inspired, supersized Conquest map you can play via Portal.
If two essentials define a great Battlefield, they are epic multiplayer and large-scale maps. The EA franchise has delivered huge arenas before, yet debate has raged since Battlefield 6 launched because its maps seem the smallest in the series. That perception was backed up when players manually measured the new layouts and compared them with past entries. In response, a creator built a giant BF6 map that is free to play and is already winning over the crowd.
A New BF6 Map Inspired by RedSec’s Fort Lyndon
Reddit users kurtinthegrind and andy_6170, also known as ViperAndyStudios, led the effort behind Club House (Portal code: z2wxc), a sprawling Conquest map modeled after Fort Lyndon from the battle royale title. It restores the wide-open spaces many have missed and includes alternate versions of select RedSec locales to elevate infantry combat.
The makers admit it is not perfect and hope Ripple Effect and Battlefield Studios will further improve Portal compatibility. The results speak loudly. On Wednesday alone, Club House drew several hundred active players, and 64 slot servers hit capacity. As IGN detailed, battles are expansive and methodical, with long sightlines pushing squads to rely on light vehicles, tanks, and helicopters, which lengthens matches and expands room for vehicular warfare.
Reactions came fast. “This is brilliant,” one Redditor wrote. “I hope they add these maps to the official rotation.” Others said they can finally “breathe” in game, stepping away from the base title’s tighter, more chaotic spaces. A top-rated comment put it plainly: “There are too many small, poorly designed maps in this game. We need large maps like Battlefield 3 or 4, where you could actually choose how to play.”
For now, it remains uncertain whether these creations will join the official rotation. What is certain is that all eyes are on Eastwood, the new map expected in the coming weeks of Season 1.
