Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut/Kiwami/Kiwami 2: How to Update Digitally?

New versions are coming to all three entries in the franchise, and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and SEGA have detailed how players can upgrade and how much the upgrades will cost.

The Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut introduces new scenes, an online cooperative Red Light Raid mode, English voice-over, and support for French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian. The theme song “Bubble,” which was not included in the original Western release, also returns. Players who purchase Yakuza 0 digitally on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Steam before December 8 at 8:29 a.m. PT can upgrade to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, or PC digital version of the Director’s Cut for $15, a significant discount compared to the usual $50 price. The discount applies only to PS4 > PS5, Xbox One > Xbox Series, and Steam > Steam upgrades. Prices and availability vary by region. Save data cannot be transferred from the original game to the Director’s Cut. This offer excludes subscription services (PlayStation Plus, Xbox Game Pass) and physical editions.

Yakuza Kiwami now adds French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian text support, along with the songs “Receive You (Reborn)” and “Bleed,” which were absent from the original Western release. Those who purchase the digital PS4 or Xbox One version by December 8 at 8:59 a.m. PT can upgrade to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series version for $2, far below the standard $20 price. The Steam version with expanded text language support launches on December 8 at 9:00 a.m. PT. Details for players who purchased the game earlier will be announced after launch. Save transfers are not supported, and the offer does not apply to subscription services or disc versions.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 also expands its text language support to include French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian. Those who purchase the digital PS4 or Xbox One version before December 8 at 6:00 p.m. PT may upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series digital version for free. The Steam release with added language support launches at the same time. Details for earlier purchases will be shared post-launch. Save data cannot be transferred, and the offer does not apply to subscription services or physical boxed editions.

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will all launch on December 8 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
