[TGA 2025] Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis: Another Remake of the First Game! [VIDEO]

Lara Croft turns 30 next year, and Amazon wants to celebrate uniquely.

Experience the pinnacle of adventure with Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a stunning reimagining of the genre-defining 1996 game. Play as Lara Croft and use your intelligence and athleticism to explore exotic, lost locations, from the jungles of Peru to the ancient ruins of Greece, the deserts of Egypt, and a mysterious, mythical Mediterranean island.

Traverse treacherous landscapes, solve deadly contraptions, and face lethal predators as you hunt for the scattered pieces of the Scion, an artifact of immeasurable power. Whether you’re a veteran raider or new to Lara’s world, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis delivers jaw-dropping visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5, modern game design, and new surprises while honoring the spirit and atmosphere of Lara Croft’s debut adventure.

In Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and the new installment, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, Lara Croft is played by Alix Wilton Regan, the voice actress from Dragon Age: Inquisition, Cyberpunk 2077, and Mass Effect 3. The developers want to create a sense of continuity. There’s more: not only is Crystal Dynamics working on the game, but so is Flying Wild Hog.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is set to release next year for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. Why is the Nintendo Switch 2 left out of this again? Incidentally, it’s no coincidence that we wrote “another remake” in the title. There was already one in 2007. It was called Tomb Raider: Anniversary. Does anyone remember it? It was released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2, PSP, and Mac. (Mac: 2008; PlayStation 3: 2011.) After all that, it’s unclear why Amazon chose this one.

Hopefully, something will come of it because the Tomb Raider franchise has been dormant for many years.
