MOVIE NEWS – Starring Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson, the eight-episode series premieres on January 30, exclusively on SkyShowtime. Pál Mácsai and Lili Walters also appear in the highly anticipated show.

SkyShowtime has released the stylish trailer for the upcoming spy thriller series PONIES. The first two episodes will premiere on January 30 on SkyShowtime, followed by weekly episode releases.

Moscow, 1977. Two so-called “PONIES” – civilians considered irrelevant by intelligence agencies – work as anonymous secretaries at the US Embassy. That is, until their husbands are mysteriously murdered in the Soviet Union. The two women then become CIA agents.

Bea (Emilia Clarke) is the highly educated, Russian-speaking child of Soviet immigrants. Her partner, Twila (Haley Lu Richardson), is a small-town girl who is as raw as she is fearless. Together, they uncover a massive Cold War conspiracy while trying to solve the mystery behind their husbands’ deaths.

The cast also includes Adrian Lester, Artjom Gilz, Nicholas Podany, Petro Ninovskyi and Vic Michaelis. Hungarian actors Pál Mácsai and Lili Walters will also appear in the series. PONIES is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

SkyShowtime is available through selected television providers and on Apple iOS, tvOS and Android devices, Android TV, Google Chromecast, LG and Samsung smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV in selected markets, via Prime Video, and online.
