Konami has finally realized that Metal Gear Solid 4, released in 2008, should be made available on the PlayStation 3.
The second installment of the collection features the first-ever port of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. In addition to the HD Collection versions of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, this collection includes the series’s first handheld game and a digital soundtrack as purchase bonuses. Versions of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for other regions can be downloaded separately from the store. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (HD Collection version) supports online play for up to six players.
The collection includes the following: Metal Gear Solid 4 Database, Metal Gear Solid 4: Screenplay Book, Metal Gear Solid 4: Master Book, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Screenplay Book, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Master Book, and Metal Gear Solid: Digital Soundtrack Vol. 2. On the one hand, Metal Gear Solid 4 for PS3 is becoming multiplatform. On the other hand, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, released for PSP in 2010, is also coming to multiple platforms and will support online gameplay-a very pleasant surprise!
Additionally, Konami announced the release of the final update for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. Metal Gear Solid now offers a high-resolution option for sharper images and clearer text. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has also been updated with even higher-resolution graphics. The latest patch implements support for Switch 2 specifications, allowing the collection to take advantage of Nintendo‘s new hardware.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 will be released on August 27 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Old Snake is not old Snake.
