Rayman Legends Retold Has Been Delayed to the Point of Self-Destruction!

The French publisher’s decision to delay this game, developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan, is highly suspicious.

The official plan until now was to release Rayman Legends Retold on October 1 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. However, Ubisoft has scrapped that plan and chosen an extremely unfortunate release date for the modernized version of Rayman Legends. Let’s take a look at the developers’ explanation on Twitter:

“Hello, Rayman fans! Rayman Legends Retold will be released on December 3. While the game has officially gone gold, we have decided to take extra time to ensure every detail receives the necessary attention. In the meantime, we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been working on, starting with a ‘Game Overview’ trailer on September 22. On that same day, a selection of creators and press will share their fresh, hands-on impressions. On behalf of all the teams working on this game, thank you for your patience, support, and trust.”

December 3 isn’t a good date. It’s two full weeks after the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, which arrives on November 19 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. By then, the gaming community will still be in the throes of GTA VI fever. The audience won’t have much attention or time left for other releases. It sounds as if Ubisoft deliberately postponed the release to a date that would ensure the project’s failure so that it could use that as a pretext to announce further layoffs. Of course, maybe we’re just being overly pessimistic, but, given the state of the gaming industry, perhaps it’s understandable why we view this delay this way. It’s possible that investors need something for this quarter, but even so, this seems suspicious.

Rayman Legends Retold is set to release on December 3 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
