Assassin’s Creed Invictus: Will It Feature Gameplay Similar to Fall Guys?

A rather interesting rumor about a future episode of the franchise has surfaced on Reddit.

A leaker named j0nathan has reported rumors about Assassin’s Creed Invictus. According to him, the game could be based on Fall Guys. Currently, sixteen players can compete against each other. The game consists of several rounds with different “games”. One of them will be a team deathmatch, the other a simple deathmatch (free-for-all), and there was also talk of a speed mini-game: you have to get to the glowing points scattered around the map as quickly as possible, obviously faster than the others.

If you qualify for the next round, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of powers to create your own build for the final game. So far, two characters from the Assassin’s Creed franchise have been mentioned. Ezio and Cesare Borgia. The gameplay will be very arcade-style: hits will have no real effect, and there will even be a kind of “bubble” armor (Super Smash Bros. already showed something similar).

The camera won’t be directly over the player’s shoulder, but will be far enough away from the character to make it small enough. The maps will be snippets of locations from previous games (so they’ll be recycling content from previous games). Baghdad from Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Japan from Assassin’s Creed Shadows, maybe an island paradise from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and even talk of Pompeii with lava rising. (So there’s more than one era involved).

Assassin’s Creed Invictus (it’s still a codename, so it could change) will be a multiplayer title in the franchise, and will be part of the Animus Hub platform. We first heard the name two years ago in an interview, so it’s been in development for at least that long. If it will be something as rumored, it could be a game more aimed at the younger generation.

But it’s not official yet, so it’s best to treat it as a rumor.
