Tokyo Xtreme Racer: Genki’s Game Launches with a Careful Approach!

The new episode of the racing game previously known on PlayStation 2 will not go full release out of the box, but will take a more cautious approach.

According to Genki’s announcement, Tokyo Xtreme Racer will first be in early access for four months. In this version, about half of the story will be available, with a heavy emphasis on Spirit Point racing and tuning. There will be more than 200 rival characters with unique storylines, 50 playable cars to prepare and drive on more than 180 kilometers of the Shuto Expressway. Player skill will also increase over time (a first for the franchise), and the full version will include additional storylines, vehicles and rival characters, as well as further improvements and bug fixes.

Tokyo Xtreme Racer is a racing game set in a sealed-off future Tokyo, where you compete to be the fastest in your customized cars on the highways that weave through the city. Drive real cars on meticulously recreated tracks, race against powerful rivals, slip through other cars, and engage in mind-blowing battles. This is a series with unparalleled appeal.

Unlike regular racing games, SP Battle is a unique battle feature based on Spirit Points, a numerical value that quantifies the willpower of drivers. Not only will your speed be tested, but you will also have to master mind games and break your opponent’s resolve. With the Tokyo Expressway faithfully recreated, the complex twists and turns and dramatic elevation changes deliver an adrenaline-pumping racing experience that’s as close to the real thing as you can get. The race begins with a flash of headlights as you take on rivals with distinctive cars and daring driving styles.
